Xiamen Huaxia vocational college, founded in 1993, is initiated and founded by Cai wanghuai, former chairman of the Xiamen Municipal Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference. It is the first private full-time ordinary higher vocational college in Xiamen, and a completely public welfare educational institution. In 1997, it was awarded the national advanced unit of private colleges by the Committee of private higher education. In 2001, it was approved by Fujian Provincial People's government and put on record by the Ministry of education. It was officially established and incorporated into the national unified enrollment. It is a private college supported by Xiamen Municipal government. In 2005, it was awarded by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance of the people's Republic of China the special fund for supporting the construction of vocational education training base. In 2006, it was awarded the title of advanced unit of Vocational Education in Fujian Province by the Organization Department of Fujian provincial Party committee, the Provincial Department of education and the provincial development and Reform Commission. In October 2007, it passed the evaluation of the Ministry of education on the level of personnel training in higher vocational colleges. In 2008, it won the construction project of digital media technology training base in Fujian Province and the joint construction training base project of "led and photovoltaic industry" by seven departments and bureaus including the Provincial Department of education and the Department of finance.

The college has two campuses. Zengcuolong campus is located in the south end of Xiamen island with beautiful scenery, covering an area of 110 mu. Jimei campus, completed and settled in 2008, is located in Jimei culture and Education District, with an area of 326 mu. It is a modern campus integrating teaching building, experimental training center, library, logistics service building, administrative office building and sports ground. In recent years, the college is committed to the construction of professional service platform, so that the professional construction and discipline construction can be close to the development frontier of production technology and management technology. The established food and drug safety testing center is a third-party food and drug safety testing institution and professional training institution integrating teaching, testing business training and guidance, technical consultation and service, and provides comprehensive and high-level food and drug safety testing and professional training services. The college attaches great importance to the construction of experiment and training rooms, and cooperates with enterprises to develop off campus training bases. At present, it has 32 on campus laboratories and 48 off campus training bases, including electronics and electricians, computer assembly, single chip microcomputer, PLC, automobile detection and maintenance, modern communication, accounting process simulation, and comprehensive financial training. The library has a collection of 469000 books (including 261000 paper books). There are also foreign language speech room, audio-visual room, multimedia classroom, student activity center and other facilities. The campus environment is elegant and quiet, which is an ideal place for students to cultivate morality, seek knowledge and learn skills.

The current chairman is Cai wanghuai, former chairman of the Xiamen Municipal Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference. The current president is Professor Zheng Xuemeng, a senior educator, economic historian and former executive vice president of Xiamen University. At present, there are 218 full-time teachers (including part-time teachers), of which 21.5% have senior titles and 4406 are students. Based on the school running philosophy of "no comparison with levels, but quality; not only books, but more skills", the college aims to cultivate high-quality skilled talents for the first line of production, construction, service and management, facing society, enterprises, market, people's livelihood and grass-roots units. In the 12th Vocational College Students' skills competition of Fujian Province held in 2008, our students won the first prize in 2 projects, the second prize in 4 projects and the third prize in 3 projects, and the total score ranked the second in the province.

In 2004, "Xiamen vocational education development plan" set "focus on supporting Huaxia Vocational College" as one of the main measures of Xiamen municipal government to make vocational education bigger and stronger.
