Baoji vocational and technical college is a public full-time college with the approval of Shaanxi Provincial People's Government in April 2003. Looking back to the history of running a school, it has been more than one hundred years. The excellent tradition of running a school is well-known. There are many talented people, and they are well-known in the land of Sanqin. Adhering to the Centennial tradition of running a school and optimizing educational resources, the college has formed a pattern of running a school with five major disciplines of education, engineering, medicine, agronomy and management, integrating high and secondary vocational education, vocational skills training and adult education. It is the largest, largest and fastest-growing Vocational College in Northwest China.

The college has a strong faculty, a complete range of specialties and fruitful teaching results. At present, there are 812 teaching staff, including 703 full-time and part-time teachers, 21 doctors, masters and postgraduates, 183 with the title of associate professor or above, 287 with the title of lecturer, 27 provincial and municipal teaching experts, 15 provincial and municipal top-notch talents with outstanding contributions and "Three Five Year Plan" Talents. At present, the college has 35 Three-year Higher Vocational Majors, 18 five-year junior college majors and 24 three-year technical secondary majors, with 13594 full-time students. Over the years, it has trained a large number of highly skilled professionals for the country and society.

The new campus of the college is located in Baoji national high tech Development Zone, covering an area of 802000 square meters. It is one of the largest social undertakings construction projects in Baoji City during the 11th Five Year Plan period. On September 9, 2005, the College held the unveiling ceremony and the foundation laying ceremony of the new campus. In October 2006, some teachers and students moved to the new campus and held a grand opening ceremony. In July 2007, more than 10000 teachers and students from five urban campuses moved to the new campus, realizing the centralized school running. In August 2007, the municipal government allocated Baoji Second People's hospital to the college as an affiliated hospital, and transferred Baoji agricultural school to the college for management. At present, the college has been integrated into 7 technical secondary schools and 1 affiliated hospital.

Taking "openness, application, knowledge, human culture and internationalization" as the school running philosophy, the college pays attention to improving the core competitiveness of the college, strengthening the quality internally and shaping the image externally, and adheres to the road of developing both connotation and extension, and combining professionalization and characteristics.
