Wuhan Industrial Polytechnic College is a full-time college approved by Hubei Provincial People's government and registered by the Ministry of education.

The college was founded in 1975. For more than 30 years, adhering to the academic spirit of "morality complements benevolence, learning for application", following the school running philosophy of "people-oriented, learning for application, serving the society", the college is committed to cultivating high-quality skilled talents. Based on industries and enterprises, the college has cultivated and transported a large number of high-quality skilled talents in the front line of production, construction, service and management for the country It has formed a distinctive metallurgical construction industry characteristics, and has been highly recognized by the industry and society.

The college now has 10 departments (departments, colleges) including architectural engineering department, mechanical engineering department, electronic and electrical engineering department, management engineering department, economics and trade department, art department, aviation service college, International College, continuing education college and Public Course Department, and 31 majors including architectural engineering technology. At present, the college has 628 teaching staff and 350 teachers, including 195 full-time teachers and 6100 students. The college is the training base for high skilled talents of China Metallurgical Science and Engineering Corporation. In April 2006, the Vocational College of MCC group was listed in our college. In June 2006, the college signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Vitoria National Institute of technology of New Zealand to carry out Sino foreign cooperation in running schools. In March 2008, the college signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with MCC Meili Paper and MCC Yinhe Paper. The college has also set up "Jianghan Oilfield Drilling order class" and "First Metallurgical steel structure order class" to cooperate with enterprises to train talents.

The college has "national vocational skill appraisal institute", construction class II training qualification approved by Hubei Provincial Department of construction, and special operation safety operation qualification approved by Hubei Provincial Bureau of safety supervision, which provides guarantee for implementing "double certificate" system, strengthening students' ability training and improving employment rate.

The college is located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, which is the thoroughfare of nine provinces. It is located in the new campus of Huangjiahu University in Wuhan. It is close to Tangxun Lake with beautiful scenery. It covers an area of 750 mu. The campus has beautiful environment, advanced facilities and complete functions.
