Inner Mongolia Energy vocational college is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college with the characteristics of energy and the coordinated development of construction, transportation services and other majors. It was founded in 1997, and its predecessor is Inner Mongolia electric power training college. In 2010, it was approved by the Inner Mongolia People's government and put on record by the Ministry of education, and was independently upgraded to a national unified college. It is the only energy higher vocational college in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Vocational schools. There are more than 3000 students from more than ten provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China.

The college is located in the new urban area of Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is located in the Daqingshan landscape belt of Hohhot and the central area of the main venue of Daqing in the 70th year of the autonomous region. The college consists of Department of electric power engineering, Department of new energy application, Department of petrochemical resources development, Department of transportation, Department of construction engineering, Department of business enterprise culture, Department of technical secondary school (Inner Mongolia Construction Vocational and technical school) and Ministry of continuing education. It has set up more than 20 characteristic brand specialty groups and professional directions, including urban thermal energy, petroleum and coal, photovoltaic wind power, gas chemical industry, power management, accounting, etc., with strong teaching staff abundant.

At present, the college has 82 staff, 49 full-time teachers and 11 high professional titles. All the part-time teachers are industry experts from universities and scientific research institutes in the autonomous region.
