Guangdong Israel Institute of Technology (gtiit) is a Sino foreign cooperative university with independent legal personality, which is jointly run by Technion, a world-renowned university, and Shantou University (stu). It is located in Shantou City, Guangdong Province.

Guangdong Israel Institute of technology was officially established on December 5, 2016 with the approval of the Ministry of education of China. It enrolled students in the first year of 2017. It is the first Chinese foreign cooperative university with independent legal personality to introduce Israel's high-quality higher education resources. Li Jiange, a famous economist, and Aron chehanovo, a Nobel Laureate in chemistry in 2004, are the first president and executive vice president respectively.

Guangdong Israel Institute of technology will strive to build itself into a research-oriented university with internationally recognized high-level education, scientific research and innovation ability, fully introduce the high-quality education resources of the world-famous Israel Institute of technology, carry out education and teaching innovation, and cultivate outstanding engineers and scientific and technological talents with innovation ability, global vision and humanistic quality. Guangdong Provincial People's government, Shantou Municipal People's government and Li Ka Shing Foundation jointly supported the establishment of the school.

The teaching language of Guangdong Israel Institute of technology is English. Eventually, 10 majors covering engineering, science and life sciences will be set up, with 5000 students. The University Grants bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctor's degree according to law. Graduates will receive the diploma and degree certificate of Guangdong Israel Institute of technology and the degree certificate of Israel Institute of technology.

The Hebrew letter "tet" represents Israel Institute of technology, the red Goldilocks represents Shantou, and the Phoenix represents Shantou University.
