Zhejiang Yuexiu Institute of foreign languages

Zhejiang Yuexiu College of foreign languages is a full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. It is also the only independent college of foreign languages in Zhejiang Province.

The college is located in Shaoxing, a famous historical and cultural city and Lu Xun's hometown. It was founded in 1981 by Shao Hongshu, the nephew of Shao Lizi, the "old man of peace" and a famous educator in Shaoxing. Mr. Wei fengjiang, the only student of Tagore, a famous Indian poet, was the first president of the college. It has been awarded the honorary titles of "model school of running school according to law", "safe campus", "excellent unit of graduate employment", "innovative unit of security work" and so on.

The college now covers an area of 649 mu, with a building area of 210000 square meters, a collection of 890000 books, a multimedia room, a voice room, a computer center, a satellite closed-circuit television system, a foreign language FM radio, a library, a gymnasium and other modern foreign language teaching facilities, as well as 27 campus practice and experimental bases with a simulated professional atmosphere and advanced equipment.

At present, the college has more than 8200 full-time students, 451 full-time teachers, 141 teachers with deputy senior titles or above, 2 doctoral tutors enjoying special government subsidies, and more than 50 foreign teachers from the United States, Britain, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Russia and other countries. The college has six secondary colleges, including English, Oriental Language, western language, foreign business management, international exchange and adult education. It has eight languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Russian, Spanish and Arabic, and more than 20 foreign languages and related foreign majors. It is the foreign language college with the largest number of foreign languages and the largest scale of foreign language talent training in Zhejiang Province.

In the past 30 years, the college adheres to the motto of "Hecheng Yuxiu", devotes itself to the cultivation of "successful applied foreign language talents", adheres to the student-centered principle, and actively cultivates students' foreign language application ability, professional practice ability and comprehensive professional ability.
