Shaanxi Vocational and Technical College of Finance and economics is a full-time public higher vocational college. It was founded in April 1960. Its predecessor was Shaanxi finance school, which was renamed as Shaanxi statistics finance school, Shaanxi finance and accounting school, Shaanxi statistics finance school, Shaanxi finance and economics school, etc. it was moved from Xi'an to Xianyang in 1960. In September 2001, it was upgraded to Shaanxi Vocational and Technical College of Finance and economics. In July 2011, it was transferred from Shaanxi Provincial Department of finance to Shaanxi Provincial Department of education.

The college is located in Xianyang, a famous historical and cultural city, with the capital of Xi'an in the East and Xianyang International Airport in the north. The college has 117 multimedia classrooms, 24 on campus training rooms, 60 accounting experimental classrooms and more than 150 off campus practice bases. The library is rich in materials, and the campus network covers all teaching and management information points. There are 400 meter standard plastic track and field sports ground, 300 meter track sports ground, indoor sports ground, basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court and other sports facilities.

The college has six teaching departments, including finance and taxation department, accounting department, business administration department, information engineering department, foundation department and sports department. It has set up 23 majors, forming a professional pattern with accounting as the leader, finance and economics as the backbone, including the coordinated development of tourism, electronic information technology, civil engineering and other majors. Accounting, accounting computerization, hotel management, finance and securities, e-commerce and other five majors were rated as key majors of provincial higher vocational education; accounting, accounting computerization and marketing were rated as provincial teaching reform pilot majors, among which accounting computerization and marketing were rated as provincial excellent teaching reform pilot majors. At present, there are 3 provincial excellent courses and 2 key courses constructed by the Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of education.

There are 71 teachers with deputy senior titles or above, 125 with master's degree and master's degree, 110 double qualified teachers and 5 provincial-level famous teachers. We have set up a team of external teachers with the participation of more than 100 industry experts, enterprise technical backbones and university professors. The college insists on arranging professional teachers to go to enterprises for "one-to-one" social practice exercise every year.

The college has constantly innovated the talent training mode of "school enterprise cooperation, work study combination, and post practice", formed a talent training scheme adapted to the characteristics of various majors, and constructed a curriculum system based on the core competence of professional posts and a practical teaching system based on the cultivation of hands-on ability. We have strengthened cooperation with the off campus practice base, fully implemented post practice, and developed "accounting standards" and "accounting personnel ability certification system" in cooperation with Zhonghui accounting group.
