(Ben Cao Tu Jing)

[synonym] ginger skin (dietotherapy materia medica), ginger clothing (Jiangsu Zhi Yao Zhi).

[source] it is the cork of rhizome of Zingiberaceae. For plant morphology, please refer to "Ginger" section.

[collection] in autumn, the rhizome of ginger was dug, washed, and the outer cork was scraped with a bamboo knife and dried in the sun.

[herbal medicine] the dried cork is a kind of irregular fragments, grayish yellow, with fine wrinkles, some with linear link marks, and yellow oil spots on the inner surface. It's soft, with special aroma and spicy taste.

It is produced in most parts of the country.

It is pungent and cool.
