[synonym] tung tree leaves.

[source] the tender leaves of Jatropha fordii (Euphorbiaceae). Please refer to "tung oil tree" for plant morphology.

[function indications] detumescence and detoxification. For carbuncle, erysipelas, sore, chilblain, scabies, scald, dysentery.

[usage and dosage] external use: tamping or burning ash, grinding and removing. Oral: decoction, 0.5-4 Liang.

② Treatment of erysipelas: mash fresh tung oil leaves and apply them to the affected area; or apply natural juice to the affected area. (Henan Chinese herbal medicine manual)

③ Treatment of scabies: fresh tung oil leaves mashed, twisted juice applied.

④ Treatment of scald: mash the fresh tung oil leaves, grind the juice, and apply the honey to the affected area.

[clinical application] treatment of dysentery and enteritis

Take the dried product and add water, decoct it twice with slow fire, combine and concentrate the liquid into extract, add Dijin powder (through 80 mesh sieve) and mix well to make granules. After drying, add magnesium stearate and press tablets. Each tablet weighs 0.5g (including about 2G of tung oil leaf crude drug). Take 4-6 tablets three times a day. Among 28 cases of dysentery, 21 cases were cured, 6 cases improved and 1 case ineffective; among 292 cases of enteritis, 252 cases were cured (86.3%), 24 cases improved (8.2%) and 16 cases ineffective (5.5%).
