Perennial herbs, up to 1 meter high. Stem erect, 4-ribbed, pubescent, much branched. Leaves simple, opposite, stipitate, broadly ovate, 6-12 cm long and 3-7 cm wide, base abruptly contracted into cuneate in the center, decurrent, apex acuminate or acute. Margin with coarse teeth. Panicle axillary or terminal, many branches; total pedicel and pedicel covered with white fine hair; calyx 5-lobed, often gray blue, with white fine hair; corolla lavender, 2-lipped, upper lip upward curved, 3-lobed, lower lip slightly downward extended, undivided; stamens 4,2-strong, anther blue; style protruding out of corolla, stigma 2-lobed.
