Annual parasitic herbs. The stem is fine, soft, linear, left-handed, multi branched, yellow, with haustoria everywhere, invading the host tissue. There are no green leaves, but triangular ovate scaly leaves. Flowers white, clustered; pedicels absent or very short; bracts, bracts scaly, ovoid: calyx cup-shaped, ca. 2 mm long, apex 5-lobed, lobes ovate or elliptic; corolla short campanulate, 2-3 mm long, 5-lobed, lobes triangular; stamens 5, anthers long ovate, filaments few, each stamen under a scale, oblong, edge seam shaped; pistils short, ovary 2-locular, each Ovary with 2 ovules, style 2, extention, stigma capitate.
