Annual succulent herbs, about 35-70 cm high. The stem is light green with dense fine red spots. The leaves are alternate; long elliptic or elliptic lanceolate, 5-12 cm long and 1.5-3 cm wide, apex long pointed, base cuneate, 2-3 pairs of reddish verrucous glands near the petiole, margin coarsely serrated, teeth with verrucous spines, green above, light green below, sometimes red; petiole base with 2 reddish stipule shaped verrucous glands. Inflorescence axillary; Flowers Lavender, about 2.2 cm in diameter, sepals 3, lateral 2, smaller, lavender, obliquely ovoid, with ridge in the center, slightly boat shaped, lower 1 saccate, with purple red stripes and dots, extending backward into a distance; petals 5, upper 1 suborbicular, back with ridge, 2 pairs of petals on both sides connected; stamens 5, lower part separated, upper part united, surrounding ovary, filaments flat, Anthers 2-locular; pistils connate by 5-carpels, ovary superior, long ovoid, 5-locular, style short. Capsule fleshy, cylindrical, pointed at both ends. It blooms in summer and autumn.
Born in the mountains and streams and other wetlands. It is distributed in Yunnan and other places.
