[plant morphology] seasonal vegetables

Perennial plants, 80-150 cm high. Stem erect, smooth, longitudinally grooved, upper part much branched. The leaves are broadly ovate, pinnately divided, lobes 3-5, ovate elliptic or oblong elliptic lanceolate, glabrous on both sides, apex obtuse or short pointed, base cuneate, margin acutely compound serrate, apical lobes usually 3-lobed; the upper leaves are sessile, 3-lobed. The inflorescence is oval, sessile, densely panicle like panicle; it is campanulate ovate with 3-4 bracts, the outermost bracts are shorter, ovate, the inner bracts are elliptic, brown, membranous; the flower is miscellaneous, the outer female flower is about 2 mm long; the central bisexual flower is 2.5 mm long, all tubular flowers; the stamen is 5; the stigma is 2-lobed, and the apex of the lobes is brush like.
