[source] it is the outer skin of the sacs of musk deer. For animal morphology, please refer to "Musk".

[collection] dissect the sacs of musk glands, remove the musk, and dry the remaining shells.

[traditional Chinese medicine] most of them were dissected into 2 or 4 valves, and the base was connected. It is about 3-5mm thick, with a layer of brown red film on the inner surface, which is called "oil skin", and the middle layer is called "silver skin". It is tough and has a strong musk smell. It is better to be dry, big and fragrant.

It is mainly produced in Sichuan, Tibet, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, etc.

[function indications] pass the pass and promote orifices, reduce swelling and detoxify. It is used to treat toxin swelling and pain, carbuncle and gangrene for a long time, and sore and furuncle hard pain. Silver skin: paste carbuncle swelling red pain.

[usage and dosage] oral administration: into powder, 5-8 points. External use: grind end to adjust to apply or enter plaster to apply.

Don't use it if you have deficiency of Qi and blood.

[selected formula] ① for the treatment of sores and swelling: Muscat shell, Xanthium sibiricum, borneol. A total of powder, sesame oil blending.

② Treatment of carbuncle and gangrene: musk shell, pistil stone, keel, clam powder, borneol, Yinzhu. All of them are finished and coated externally.

③ Treatment of mastitis hair back: musk silver skin, and borneol paste.

④ Treatment sore furuncle hard pain: musk shell, water amaranth, ground gall, pig bile, red peony root, Huangdan. Boil cream together and stick it on the affected area.
