[chemical constituents] the leaves contain about 3% Eucommia gum, 0.028% alkaloid, 0.072% glucoside, 7.3% pectin, 2.2% fat, 1.48% resin, 1.49% organic acid, 3.6% ketose (before hydrolysis), 5.2% ketose (after hydrolysis), 0.95% aldose and vitamin C_ 48 mg%, caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid and tannin. There are aucubin in glucoside, phytosterol in resin, malic acid, tartaric acid and fumaric acid in organic acid.
