[nature and taste]: the root is cylindrical or semi cylindrical, 5-10cm long and 0? 5-5cm in diameter. The surface is yellowish brown to grayish brown, with wrinkles, longitudinal grooves and lateral root marks, and some can see reticular lines. It is hard and hard to break, with flat section, brown to dark brown, scattered with brown punctate oil chambers, brown cambium ring, radial texture, and rotten in the center of old roots. It is fragrant, sweet, bitter and slightly tongue piercing. Warm in nature, pungent and bitter in taste.
