Dogbane root

[source] it is the root of Cynodon dactylon, a Compositae plant.

Bitter, cold.

Functions and indications: detoxify, benefit the people, promote blood circulation and detumescence.

[selection] ① for nephritis and edema: fresh roots of Cynanchum cuspidatum are half to one or two. Mash, cover navel with wine cup, 4-6 hours a day.

② Treatment of urinary tract infection, stomatitis: dogbane root one to two. Fried in water, mixed with honey.

③ Treatment of traumatic injury: dog tongue grass fresh root three to four Liang, snake grape root white skin and so on. Mash, mix distiller's grains or yellow rice wine, and heat the wound. Cut up one or two fresh roots of Cynanchum cuspidatum, cover them with yellow rice wine in a bowl, steam them to get juice, make sugar and take them once in the morning and once in the evening.
