[plant morphology] Ophiopogon japonicus

Perennial herbs, 15-25 cm high. The rhizome is covered with scales and fibrous when dry. The fibrous root is long, light yellow, and the apex is fleshy. The leaf blade is lanceolate, 5-10 cm long and 2-3 cm wide, with pink white below, straight parallel veins; the base of petiole has membranous sheath; the raceme is erect, axillary; perianth is 6, spreading; stamen is 6, filaments are very short; ovary is inferior, stigma is 3-toothed. Berry fleshy, red at maturity, broken.

It grows in the wet place under the forest at the edge of the ditch.
