[source] it is the stem of faba bean, a leguminous plant.

[chemical constituents] the stem contains kaempferol, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, fumaric acid, betulin, etc. Stem, leaf, flower and pod all contain d-glycerin.

[pharmacological action] glyceric acid has diuretic effect. See "broad bean pod shell" section.

Functions and indications: stop bleeding and diarrhea. All kinds of internal bleeding, watery diarrhea and scald are treated.
