In 1742, it was used as the silkworm Hall of the first silkworm altar. Empress Xiaozhuang of the Qing Dynasty once held a memorial ceremony here after her death. In 1746, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty respected his mother's wish and ordered that it be changed into a Buddhist temple, which imitated the scale of Longxing Temple in Zhengding County of Hebei Province and was given the name of Shanfu temple.
