Because of the weathering of the rock, the plank road became narrow. In the past, navigation of the Chuanjiang River was forbidden every flood season. It was not until 1888 that the people of the Three Gorges built the trestle road of the Three Gorges with one hammer and one chisel, which improved the traffic of the Three Gorges. So far, people can walk on the plank road.
