Chen Gang, male, Han nationality, was born in December 1958 in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in December 1980 and began to work in December 1976. He graduated from Tsinghua University, majoring in solid mechanics with a doctoral degree and a research fellow.
