Wu Ziying (1943 -) is a Guqin artist, who originally lives in Shanghai and now lives in Seattle, USA.

Wu Ziying inherited many Guqin masters in the 20th century. He is the direct descendant of Wang Jiru, Wu JINGLUE, Cha Fuxi, sun zongpeng, Xu lisun and Gu Meitang. Wu Ziying's Qin art combines the merits of mei'an school and Wu school. The style of Qin is simple and steady, elegant and lyrical.

brief introduction

Before moving to the United States, he was a professor of traditional Chinese music at Shanghai Normal University and the president of Shanghai Piano Club. From 2001 to 2003, he was a visiting artist of Ethnomusicology in the University of Washington (UW) Conservatory of music. Overseas, Wu Ziying attended many music festivals and performances, spreading Chinese culture represented by Guqin. Professor Wu Ziying also teaches Pipa and other musical instruments. He is also a collector. For painting, sculpture and other arts have a high appreciation ability. As for Guqin art, he is good at playing and has rich experience in repairing Guqin. He has a deep understanding of the spirit of Chinese music. With his unique and vivid teaching method, he can let more people know guqin, Chinese art, and the character and attitude of Chinese people expressed through guqin music. Professor Wu Ziying is still living in Seattle, teaching and playing Guqin and pipa, and restoring traditional Chinese musical instruments.
