Xikou
It is located in the north of yunnankang County, adjacent to Dalin Township in the East.
history
The township is bordered by Dalin town in the East, with Sandie River as the boundary, and Huaxing River and Dayu township of Yunlin County in the north. The two streams crossed and confluenced about one kilometer away from the Xikou and headed straight for the Beigang stream to form shuangxiyankou. More than 200 years ago, their ancestors moved from Fujian and Guangdong provinces to Taiwan and settled here. In view of the current environment, they named it Shuangxikou. In the 28th year of Meiji (1895), it was called "Shuangxikou district" in the early period of Japanese rule. In October of 1920, the local system changed from abandoned district to village. At the same time, it changed "Shuangxikou district" to "Xikou village", until the 34th year of the Republic of China (1945) after the war, it changed "Xikou village" to "Xikou Township". Gaiqi is called Xikou because of its natural situation. At the beginning of the Japanese rule period, the administrative region of the township was subordinate to the Tamao branch of Jiayi County in the 28th year of Meiji (1895). When the local system was changed in October of 1920, xikouzhuang was subordinate to Jiayi County of Tainan. At the same time, Xizhuang tribe under the jurisdiction of Xikou district was subordinate to xingangzhuang, and chailinjiao tribe under the jurisdiction of xingangzhuang and youcuo tribe under the jurisdiction of dayuzhuang were merged into the township The ten tribes are divided into 20 tribes. Until the 34th year of the Republic of China (1945), after the war, it changed its name to "Xikou Township". At the same time, it established 14 villages under the jurisdiction of Jiayi county. the local residents came from Fukien and Guangdong provinces, and a small part of the Cantonese language had been assimilated into Fujian. All the languages and customs were different because of the provincial origin. Except for a small number of bishops and Christians, all religions follow the religion, clothing, food, housing, marriage, funeral, etc. worshipped by their ancestors. They are not different from the tradition because of the Japanese rule for more than 50 years.
