Zou district town

Zou District, Zhonglou District, Changzhou (formerly Zou District, Wujin District), is a typical land of fish and rice in eastern China, located in the center of Taihu Plain in the Yangtze River Delta,

It borders Changzhou in the East, 10km away from the city center, Gehu water area in the south, Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal, Huning railway and Huning Expressway in the north, Changzhou airport in the West. It is located between Shanghai and Nanjing. National Highway 312, provincial highway 340 and shichanghong road run through the town in east-west direction.

In October 2019, Zou district town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

Historical evolution

Zou district town is a combination of Zou District, Lihe, Buyi and taicun after several regional adjustments.

In November 1947, the expansion of districts and towns was carried out, and Dongtang Township and Zhongshan Township were merged into Zou District Township. In October 1949, the Baojia system was abolished, and administrative villages were set up according to the original scope.

In 1986, there were 11 administrative villages in Zou District Township, 8 in Lihe Township, 9 in Buyi Township and 11 in taicun township. In December 1999, Wujin carried out the adjustment of township administrative region. Zou district and Lihe merged to build Zou district town. The town government is located in Zou District, and the town governs 19 administrative villages and 2 residents' committees. Buyi and taicun merged to build Buyi town. The town government is located in Buyi, and the town governs 22 administrative villages and 1 community.

In September 2001, Zou district town was adjusted from 19 administrative villages to 16, and Buyi town was adjusted from 22 administrative villages to 15.

In June 2006, the three administrative villages of zhaoshu, gangxiao and huozhuang in Zou district were classified into economic development district, and the town area was divided into 13 administrative villages.

In March 2007, Zou district town and Buyi town were merged to build Zou district town. Zou District, the seat of the town government, has jurisdiction over 28 administrative villages and 5 communities.

Zou district town is located in the Jiangsu Wuxi Changzhou economic circle of the Yangtze River Delta, on the Bank of the rich Taihu Lake, close to the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal, facing the Yangtze River in the north and Taihu Lake in the south. It is more than 100 kilometers away from Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou, with a total area of 66.15 square kilometers (2017).

It is located in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and on the shore of Yonghu lake. It belongs to the alluvial plain of the Yangtze River. The terrain is flat. It is slightly lower in the East with an altitude of 4.4-5 meters, and slightly higher in the West with an altitude of 8-9 meters. There are no mountains and hills.

In 2001, the town's GDP was 927 million yuan, and its fiscal revenue was 63.91 million yuan. The total agricultural output value (constant price) was 82 million yuan, of which the output value of diversified economy was 58 million yuan. Its annual output is 17.76 million kg of grain, 14300 pigs and 246300 poultry, 1.23 million kg of aquatic products, 193000 kg of fruits and 1.49 million kg of vegetables.

At the end of the year, the total power of agricultural machinery was 35200 kW. It has 481 industrial enterprises, including 21 "three capital" enterprises. The contracted foreign investment is US $6.05 million. The total retail sales of commodities reached 1.38 billion yuan and the transaction volume of the market reached 1.28 billion yuan. The town is a famous "town of lamps" in China, and Zou District lamp city is one of the three major lamp markets in China.

Zou District lamp city is one of the largest lamp markets in China. In 2004, the market turnover reached 1.58 billion yuan. In 2005, Zou district's lamp industry has been identified as the key characteristic industry cluster of Jiangsu Province.

In 2007, the sales revenue of industrial products was 7.97 billion yuan, the added value of the tertiary industry was 1.461 billion yuan, and the fiscal revenue was 100 million yuan. Zou District accelerated the pace of modern agricultural development, adjusted the agricultural structure area of 700 hectares, established the provincial demonstration party for high yield and high efficiency of mechanical transplanting rice, implemented unified varieties, unified seedling raising, unified mechanical transplanting and unified management, and the comprehensive operation level of agricultural machinery reached 96.5%.

There are 2 new high-tech enterprises under the national Torch Program, 2 Torch Program projects in Jiangsu Province, 1 new high-tech product in Jiangsu Province and 1 new high-tech enterprise in Jiangsu Province. Zou district's industrial concentration area has begun to take shape, covering an area of 3.5 square kilometers of development and construction, with complete infrastructure facilities. Zou district has introduced 45 secondary and tertiary industry enterprise zones. The tertiary industry has developed around the strategy of "prospering the town with lights" and "bringing three industries with three industries and promoting two industries with three industries".

Jiangsu lingjiatang agricultural and sideline products wholesale market, the third largest in China, settled in Zou district and officially opened in December 2007.

Zou District Industrial Park is planned to have one park and two zones, with a total area of 10000 mu, and the initial start-up area of 5000 mu. There are 215 enterprises in the industrial park, including 18 enterprises with an annual output value of more than 50 million yuan and 6 foreign-funded enterprises. Zou district health center, Zhonglou District, Changzhou City, was founded in 1958. It is located in the middle of 312 and 231 provincial roads. The hospital covers an area of 30 mu, with a construction area of more than 10000 square meters,

It has 130 employees and 80 beds. It is a first-class hospital, which undertakes the functions of medical treatment, prevention, health care, rehabilitation, family planning and health education for residents within its jurisdiction. In 2006, the number of outpatients and inpatients reached 117000 and 1500 respectively.

The hospital has Ge color Doppler ultrasound, Toshiba 7020 automatic biochemical analyzer, fujineng electronic gastroscope, 500mA large X-ray machine and other medical equipment, as well as a national standard pathology laboratory. Zhuangyuanqiao carp leaps to the dragon's gate

Located in Wenchang village, Yuantai village, Zou District, Zhonglou District, now the modern agricultural industrial park of Zou District, there is a new and unique small bridge called Zhuangyuan bridge. There are three leaping carp in the river on the left and right sides of the bridge, and four pictures on the stone railings of Zhuangyuan bridge: "studying hard", "zhuangyuanji", "Baima Youjie", "entering the court as an official".

Jianong Tanqu leisure ecological park

Located in Changzhou, a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, Jianong Tanqu leisure ecological park covers an area of about 600 mu. It is the first "playing and learning" agricultural theme park in China, which integrates agricultural characteristic experience, popular science education, rural catering, leisure and entertainment, physical and mental development and other projects.
