Coral town

Coral Township, Shanghang County, Longyan City, Fujian Province, is located in the northwest part of Shanghang county. It is a subtropical monsoon climate. The Hakka mother river Ting River flows through Huzhu village, lower Hang Village and Cai Keng Village. The total area of the township is 42.62 square kilometers, and the registered residence population is 8584 (2018). It has 5 administrative villages (October 2019).

Historical evolution

In the fifth year of Chunhua in the Northern Song Dynasty (994), after Shanghang was established as a county, to the Yuan Dynasty, coral was attached to Anfeng Shangli in Shanghang County.

The hall in the house is spacious and the sky is bright. It is said that there are "ten halls and nine wells". In the back hall of the house, there are still some old farm utensils such as millstones, windmills, stone mortars and rice hulls. In the west chamber, there is a pestle house and a "hundred year old scale". In front of the house is a gravel paved Sun Valley terrace. Outside is a half moon shaped pond with two wells for water irrigation and fire prevention. It is surrounded by vast paddy fields. It is characterized by the North-South meridian as the central axis, left-right symmetry, and the combination of the half moon shaped pond in front of the house and the Weilong house behind the main hall into a Tai Chi shaped whole.
