history
Wusong market town was formed in the late Ming Dynasty, formerly known as Huxiang bridge. In the third year of Daoguang (1823), for the convenience of disaster relief, Wusong factory was located in Wusongkou area of Baoshan county. For the first time, Wusong was used as the place name of Huxiang bridge and its surroundings, and the name of Huxiang bridge was gradually replaced by Wusong.
Wusong is the main coastal defense fortress in the Yangtze River Estuary, with barracks system. In 1870, the Qing government changed the business system. Wusongying was changed into a navy. Its residence was moved from Baoshan county (wusongsuo city) to Wusongkou, and the town was located in the north of Huxiang town. Guangxu three years (1877) jianti town Xingyuan in Zhenbei (now Wusong middle school).
Some people think that Wusong "was recorded in a brief account of Jiading slaughtering City, and the Qing General Li Chengdong was ordered to garrison Wusong.". In fact, "Wusong" in this article refers to Wusong Suo city at that time (full name "Wusong River Shouyu qianhusuo city"), that is, Baoshan County later, not Wusong today. Today's Wusong was called "Huxiang bridge" at that time. The name of "Wusong" came into being only after the Wusong factory was set up in the reign of Daoguang.
In the 24th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu, Wusong was opened as a port, known as wusongtong shopping mall. In that year, roads were built to attract investment, towns were expanded, and large towns were formed.
In the 1990s, the transformation of the old Wusong Street began. The old area was demolished one after another, and Wusong new village and Wusong new town were built. At present, only the northeast corner of the old street is left in the shantytown of the old street.
