Bamboo and wood instrumental music of Li Nationality
Applicant: Wuzhishan City, Hainan Province
Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County has a long history of Li traditional instrumental music, mainly spread in the southern foot of Wuzhi Mountain in Central Hainan Province. The common traditional musical instruments of Li Nationality in this area mainly include eight pieces, such as single drum, dingdong wood, nose Xiao, Kougong, lie, Koubai, Dongshao and Bida. These musical instruments exude the flavor of primitive social life. They are handmade by Li people using bamboo wood, animal skin and other raw materials in nature, which vividly reflects the local Li people's life and aesthetic concept of advocating nature. According to the legend of the old artists, the traditional musical instruments of the Li nationality were the most popular in the KangQian period of the Qing Dynasty.
The representative Li folk traditional musical instruments in Wuzhishan City mainly include tongshao, shaoba, Bixiao, Kougong, Koubai, lie, dingdongmu, Dumu drum, etc., which are mainly distributed in the Li villages represented by Nanchong village of maodao Township in Wuzhishan City. Every festival or March 3, the Li people will take out their own musical instruments to perform impromptu, to express their feelings, praise life, pleasure body and mind, and some use them as a means of love. Li's bamboo and wood instrumental music has been developed and inherited in a spontaneous way among the people. Its music content is very rich, involving labor, love, weddings and funerals, etiquette, sacrifice, entertainment and other subjects. A large number of works have been scattered among the people for a long time. Now only more than 100 pieces have been collected, among which the representative works are Ronnie tune, Si qin tune, hello Gros tune, etc.
The traditional musical instruments of Li nationality are very rare in the music world at home and abroad. The bamboo and wood instrumental music has a strong national style, which greatly enriches the treasure house of Chinese national instrumental music. The bamboo and wood instrumental music of Li nationality contains rich information of Li nationality's development history, production and life, human customs and so on, which has the research value of anthropology, ethnology, folklore, music culture and other disciplines. At present, under the impact of fashion music, the bamboo and wood instrumental music of Li nationality is gradually declining, and the folk musicians are out of touch. Most of the traditional music is in danger of being lost, which is in urgent need of rescue.
