Introduction to Ewenki reindeer custom:

Applicant: Genhe City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

At present, the Aoluguya Ewenki hunting people, who live in the Aoluguya ethnic township of Genhe City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, make a living by hunting and raising reindeer. They live in the deep forest of mountains all the year round and are known as "the last hunting tribe in China".

Ewenki people have the only reindeer population in China, and they are the only breeders of reindeer, which is known as "making deer Department" in history. In the history of more than 300 years, the Aoluguya Ewenki hunting people have gradually formed their own unique reindeer culture, including deer domestication and breeding skills, deer de paste and deer milk production and use, wine making skills and deer saddle making skills, deer product processing, national handicraft production and so on. In the long-term development process, the Aoluguya Ewenki hunting ethnic group gradually went out of the single hunting and breeding mode, and learned to reasonably develop and utilize deer products and other wild resources, so as to better serve the development and progress of the ethnic group.

Ewenki reindeer custom integrates production knowledge and life knowledge. It contains unique beliefs, aesthetic values, values and ecological values in traditional clothing, food, housing, transportation, medicine, craft and other skills. It has unique historical and cultural research value.
