Xibo people's belief in mother Xili is a folk belief originated from the form of tying rope to record events and the nature of ancestor worship, which has distinct Xibo national characteristics.

Worshiping "mother Xili" is a common and unique group belief custom of Xibo nationality. Xili mother, inherited by wujishan family in Bajiazi village, Huang's hometown, Shenbei New District, has a history of four to five hundred years. It is said that "mother Xili" is a legendary national hero, which actually originated from nomadic life. "Xili" in Xibo means continuation; "mother", goddess, means that under the protection of goddess, children and grandchildren can continue to multiply. Therefore, since ancient times, Xibo people have worshiped and worshipped every family.

December 16 is mother Xili's birthday. On that day, the people set up the offerings and saluted the incense. The clansmen kowtowed to their ancestors and mother Xili. On New Year's Eve, it is a very sacred activity of Xibo family to offer sacrifices to mother Xili. The host invited mother Xili out, placed the offering, burned incense and kowtowed. It was displayed until the second day of the second lunar month. On this day, I want to eat tehler, that is, buckwheat noodles.

Xilima's belief in customs, which embodies the profound Xibe cultural tradition, is a cultural characteristic of the whole Xibe nation from ancient times to the present, and is the link of national spirit.
