Torch Festival (Torch Festival of Yi nationality)

Torch Festival is the most solemn traditional festival of Yi people in Hezhang County, Guizhou Province. It is held on June 24 of the lunar calendar every year.
Yi nationality is the most populous ethnic minority in Hezhang County, which retains the strong national traditional cultural characteristics. The torch festival is called "duotuiji" in local Yi language. The origin, period and activities of the festival are the same as those of Yi people in other places. It is mainly popular in Yi villages.
The project is of great significance to enhance the national cohesion and national unity, as well as the research value of ethnology, folklore and astronomy.
