Qixi Festival (Tianhe Qiqiao custom)
Applicant: Tianhe District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province
In Tianhe District, Panyu District and Huangpu District of Guangzhou, Qixi Qiqiao Festival is called "Qijie birthday", also known as "Qiniang birthday", "baiqiniang", "baiqiniang", which is the survival of ancient Qiqiao folk custom in Lingnan. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, there were Qiqiao markets for women's goods in Guangzhou, such as shangjiufu, xiajiufu and shishifu.
On the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, the community organized a "worship of the seventh mother" ceremony. Besides Niulang and Zhinu, the objects of worship were also Zhinu's six sisters. The main content of the activity is to show the handicrafts of the community women. The figures and dolls in folklore and historical stories are lifelike, and the shapes of plants and utensils are vivid. They are skillful in fighting wits and wits, and show their talents to the full. "Needling against shadows" continues the ancient style. The community troupe also performed the story of Cowherd and weaver girl.
Qijie birthday is also popular in Macao and Southeast Asia. Inheriting and protecting this heritage is of great significance for inheriting the excellent tradition of the Chinese nation, enhancing the sense of identity and cohesion of the Chinese nation, and also has the value of folklore research.
