Zhejiang Media College

Zhejiang Media College is a University jointly managed by the State Administration of radio, film and television and the people's Government of Zhejiang Province to cultivate radio, film and other media talents. At present, it is one of the two main bases for training radio, film and other media talents in China. It is known as "Beiguang in the north and zheguang in the South". Since its establishment, the university has provided a large number of professional talents for TV stations and radio stations of central and local provinces, cities and autonomous regions, as well as for TV stations, radio stations and social film and television production units of cities and counties.

At present, the college has 9 secondary colleges and 2 teaching departments, including the school of Journalism and cultural communication, the school of film and Television Arts, the school of electronic information, the school of animation, the school of broadcasting and hosting arts, the school of management, the school of international cultural communication, the school of music, the school of continuing education, the Ministry of Social Sciences and the Ministry of public sports. It has set up radio and television journalism, broadcasting and hosting arts, radio and television director, and radio and television director Broadcast and television engineering and other 28 undergraduate majors and professional direction and part of the specialty. With the approval of Zhejiang Provincial Department of education, the college has set up a "3 + 2" college to undergraduate major, which is aimed at the excellent fresh graduates of Higher Vocational Colleges in Zhejiang Province. The length of schooling is two years, and the public standard fees are charged. After graduation, the students are issued with full-time ordinary undergraduate diploma, and enjoy the treatment of national ordinary undergraduate graduates.

At present, the college has more than 9000 full-time students. There are 754 teaching staff in the school, including 55 with senior titles and 145 with deputy senior titles. Seven teachers enjoy the special allowance of the State Council. There is one candidate for the second level training and 17 for the third level training of 151 provincial talent project. There are 22 candidates for the provincial young teachers funding program. There is one "five one batch" talent in the second batch of publicity and culture system of the province. There are 2 provincial young and middle-aged academic leaders. At present, our college has two provincial-level key disciplines, such as radio and television art, radio and television journalism, four college level key disciplines (Applied Linguistics, drama and drama, radio and television engineering, art (TV program production)) and six college level key research institutes and individual studios, such as "news and Communication Research Institute", "program owner research and development center". There are five research institutions at or above the provincial level, including national animation teaching and research base, Zhejiang communication and Cultural Industry Research Center (key research base of Zhejiang Philosophy Society), Zhejiang Radio and Television Research Institute, media literacy research base of China Radio and Television Association, and Zhejiang intangible cultural heritage research base, forming a relatively stable and advanced talent training base for teaching and scientific research. At present, our college has 4 provincial key construction majors and 6 school level key majors. There are 5 provincial excellent courses. There are 10 provincial education reform projects. One second prize of provincial teaching achievement award.

The college has distinctive professional characteristics. Equipped with advanced teaching experimental equipment, there are more than 50 laboratories, including virtual studio laboratory, non editing laboratory, audio and video comprehensive laboratory, MIDI production laboratory, radio and television communication computer laboratory, with a total value of over 100 million yuan. The 22 storey studio building has been built and used with an investment of 130 million yuan, with a total construction area of more than 30000 square meters. There are 17 studios of various specifications, including 1200 square meters, 400 square meters, 300 square meters and 200 square meters. It is a radio and Television Festival production base integrating teaching, scientific research and social services. The school is also equipped with campus cable TV, Gigabit Campus Network, satellite ground receiving station, campus radio station and experimental TV station. The library has a building area of 22000 square meters and a collection of 650000 books, including nearly 20000 audio-visual materials. It has become a regional radio, film and Television Information Center in China.

In recent years, in accordance with the decision of Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China on speeding up the construction of a cultural province, our institute has established the strategic goal of integration of industry, University and research, and adopted a series of measures to speed up the pace of practice and strive to improve the ability of social service through foreign cooperation and opening up. The college carries out in-depth cooperation with the provincial radio and television group. The establishment of a market-oriented operation mechanism, the establishment of the Zhejiang Media Co., Ltd. The experimental art theater of Zhejiang Media College was established. Strive to tackle key problems in R & D projects of radio and television science and technology. Actively participate in the animation industry. Cooperate with Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone to build media cultural and creative industrial park. Adhering to the principle of open education and expanding the space for international exchanges and cooperation, the college has established friendly cooperative relations with Coventry University, Minster University, South China Sea film and television school, Victoria College of art, Michigan State University, dexson University, Boston University and Chartered Institute of science and technology in Singapore Coventry University signed a formal cooperation agreement in June 2005.
