Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture is the main settlement of Miao compatriots, with a total of more than 1.7 million Miao people, accounting for one fourth of the total population of the Miao people in China. Miao nationality is known as "every herb is medicine, and everyone can cure". There are many popular sayings among Miao people, such as "Miao medicine for thousands of years, Miao medicine for thousands of years", "three thousand Miao medicine, and eight hundred Prescriptions". There are unique ways and methods for disease etiology, diagnosis, medication, drug naming, processing, and health care, forming a theoretical system of two principles, five meridians, three or sixteen major diseases, seventy-two diseases, one hundred and eight minor diseases, and forty-nine diseases. Miao doctors master more than 200 kinds of diseases, which are widely involved in internal medicine, external medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics and so on. Among them, the external treatment has its own characteristics, such as fumigation, egg rolling, water melting, stepping on the share, tendon picking, foaming, fire needle, lighting explosion, scraping and so on. It is very effective in the treatment of orthopedics, knife and arrow wounds, snake and insect bites.

Jiujiecha medicine is a kind of ointment medicine, which comes from Miao doctors' experience in Jinping County, Rongjiang county and Huangping County of Qiandongnan Autonomous Prefecture.

The main prescription of jiujiecha is 1500g jiujiecha, 1200g wild grape root, 1000g shuisanqi, 800g Shuidonggua, 500g Gunshanzhu and 500g crab. The production process is to weigh and match the medicine according to the prescription, and put the rolling beads, crabs and white wax separately. First, the Jiujie tea, water wax gourd, water Panax notoginseng, wild grape root and other drugs will be broken into small pieces, rolling beads, crabs into fine powder, over 80-100 mesh fine Luo. The frying material is another 1500 grams of tea seed oil, which is poured into the pot and heated. When jiujiecha, Shuidonggua, shuisanqi and wild grape roots are fried to yellow, remove the residue and filter. Cream is to take 500 grams of white wax into the oil to dissolve, pour into the tank to wait for temperature, the rolling beads, crab powder into, mix to form ointment. It should be stored in enamel jar or ceramic jar, sealed in a cool place, and free from high heat. Jiujiecha medicine is an important part of Miao medicine, which has the functions of dispersing blood and removing swelling, reinforcing tendons and connecting bones, and mainly treating fracture and bruise.

There is no written language in Miao nationality, and the inheritance of Miao medicine is very fragile, so it is urgent to strengthen the protection.
