Wutongzou silver making technique was founded in the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty (1723-1735). It was created by Yue Yong brothers, descendants of Yue Fei, a famous anti gold general in yuejiawan village, Shiping County, Yunnan Province. It has always been the exclusive business of Yue family.

In history, wutongzou silver was as famous as Beijing Cloisonne, and was known as "the world's unique copper art". Black copper walking silver is made of copper, gold and other precious metals. It is melted in a certain proportion to make the blank. Various patterns are carved on the blank. Then the melted silver (gold) is put into the fine patterns. After cooling, it is polished smooth, and then the bottom copper is turned into black by ancestral technology, showing the silver (gold) pattern, showing the decorative effect of black and white (yellow) It is mainly inlaid with silver, so it is called "black copper walking silver". Its products are mostly ink cartridges, pen holders, wine pots, censers, vases and other daily utensils, which are ingenious in shape and fine in production. They can be called fine arts and have collection value. After hundreds of years of accumulation of metallurgy, carving, painting and other traditional skills are also of great historical, scientific, cultural and artistic value.
