The craft is complicated in content and various in working procedures. The wooden boat is simple and elegant, light and dexterous, and durable. With the development of history, the use of wooden boats has gradually expanded from agriculture, ferry, inland river and coastal fishing to transportation, commerce, postal transportation and other fields.

Zhuhong Town, Xinghua City, Jiangsu Province is a typical water town with many rivers, lakes and harbors. Wooden boats have become an important tool in people's daily life. Zhuhong wooden boat is mainly made of old Chinese Fir with strong and tenacious material, with iron nails, hemp silk, lime, tung oil and other auxiliary materials. The whole production process includes more than ten processes, including material selection, material preparation, material breaking, batching, plate breaking, plate splicing, ship throwing, hemp beating, oil tanker and so on. At present, Zhuhong's wooden boat manufacturing has declined. There are less than 70 workers specializing in wooden boat production in the town, and the annual output of all kinds of small wooden boats has been reduced to about 4000.
