Qianshan County is located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, now belongs to Shangrao City. In the territory of undulating mountains, developed water system, lush vegetation, good soil and water conservation, rich in Phyllostachys pubescens. The origin of Liansi paper is in Qianshan County. In the Ming Dynasty, Gao Lian's Zunsheng bajian listed "Qianshan paper" as one of the best products of the Yuan Dynasty. There are several records of paper making in Qianshan in Tiangong Kaiwu by song Yingxing of Ming Dynasty, which explains the varieties of Liansi paper and Cambodian paper, and gives a high evaluation.

Qianshan Liansi paper was produced in the South and north of Wuyi Mountain. At its peak, there were more than 2000 paper troughs. "It's not easy to get a piece of paper, but it's quite skillful." the production process of Liansi paper is very exquisite. The raw material should be the young bamboo pole of Phyllostachys pubescens. It should be cut down before and after the beginning of summer when the young bamboo will grow two pairs of buds and leaves. The paper needs several months of sun and rain to bleach naturally. The production cycle is as long as one year. Liansi paper is made by hand. It has no physical and chemical index and is controlled by experience. The key technologies in the manufacturing process are as follows: first, the quality of water, the water in contact with washing, soaking, bleaching and washing should be free from any pollution, and the local spring water should be used; second, the medicine is made of water egg insect tree.
