Introduction to wuzuquan

Applicant: Quanzhou City, Fujian Province

Quanzhou martial arts can be traced back to the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Wuzu boxing is the most representative of all kinds of local martial arts. Wuzu boxing is one of the seven major boxing styles in Fujian Province, which has the longest history and the widest spread area. According to the existing ancient records, it includes five boxing methods: one Dharma, two Taizu, three Arhats, four walkers and five white cranes. Wuzu boxing has more than 200 sets of routines, including empty boxing, long and short weapons. Its small set is very refined, with only ten steps, while the large set is as complicated as 150 or 60 skills.

Wuzu boxing is precise and practical. Its shape is simple and easy to learn. It is simple and practical. It is straightforward and has few tricks. Each boxing has its own style and originality. Due to its similar style, it can be learned and practiced at the same time. Wuzuquan emphasizes self-cultivation based on modesty. The so-called "if you want to learn boxing, you need to learn goodness.". If you want to be good, self-cultivation is the foundation. In traditional martial arts, it has unique humanistic care. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it has spread to Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Southeast Asia, becoming a branch of Quanzhou Wushu and an important part of Minnan culture.

Because wuzuquan is only taught by words and deeds, it has gone through the disaster of "burning Shaolin Temple" and "banning all boxing clubs". Although it has been carefully organized, studied and promoted by martial arts organizations at home and abroad, most of the people who are proficient in wuzuquan are old, and some of them have died, so this ancient boxing method is still in danger of being lost, which needs to be rescued and protected.
