Applicant: Qiyang County, Hunan Province

Qiyang ditty, also known as "Diao Zi" or "Xiaoqu Zi", is a form of Quyi singing, which is popular in Qiyang and its surrounding areas in Hunan Province. The traditional form of performance is a woman standing on the plate, another man sitting and playing erhu accompaniment; there are also a man holding a flower fan, a woman holding a handkerchief, two people singing and dancing. Later, there was a sit singing performance accompanied by a small string band and a group performance with 8 to 12 people singing, speaking and counting. Yueqin, Sanxian and Yangqin were added to the accompaniment instruments, and bamboo flute, suona and percussion instruments were also added. Most of the lyrics are in the form of seven characters and four sentences, and the singing tune is in the form of Qupai. The commonly used tunes are wugenliulang, sijihuakai, jiejiucai and caihuadiao. Traditional programs are often named after singing tunes.

Most of the programs in Qiyang minor are short, but the singing tunes are rich and colorful. The style is lively and clear, the performance is unique, and the value is extremely unique. However, there are many difficulties in the current development, and it is in urgent need of support and protection.
