Xinjiang Quzi is a form of Quyi created and performed by the Han, ha, Hui and other ethnic groups. It is mainly spread in Urumqi, Hami, Turpan, Ili and other Han, Hui, Kazak settlements, and has a history of nearly 100 years. It combines Shaanxi folk songs, Qinghai Pingxian folk songs, Lanzhou GuZi folk songs and northwest folk songs with Xinjiang multi-ethnic music art, forming a unique artistic style.
According to the content, the repertoire of Xinjiang opera can be divided into two categories: elegant and vulgar. According to the performance, it can be divided into Wenxi and Wuxi. According to the music structure, it can be divided into Yuediao and Xiaodiao. It is mainly composed of sitting and singing, which can be performed on professional stage as well as in farmhouses and fields. Sanxian, Banhu and erhu are the main musical instruments in the performance. Other musical instruments such as dizi, Shuizi and Wazi are chosen according to the situation of the performers. Most of the confessions are in local dialect.
In the long-term performing practice, Xinjiang songs play an important role in enriching people's cultural life, maintaining national unity and border stability. In addition, it also plays an important role in the inheritance of national traditional culture and ethics.
