Kirgiz yolon is a unique folk song of Pamir Kipchak tribe. It has many kinds, including persuading yolon to marry, welcoming yolon, riddle yolon, dueling yolon, satirizing yolon, persuading yolon to be good, plucking yolon, female yolon, male yolon, etc.

Yolon singing is indispensable for any mass activity in Pamir. The invited yoronchi (yoronchi singer) is equivalent to today's wedding host and plays an important role in the wedding. The singers improvised the wedding grand occasion and the description of the happy life of the bride and groom into the yolon song to sing, adding luster and glory to the wedding. The singers also educate and guide the new couple in the form of good and evil, compatriots' friendship, harmony and friendliness, and human dignity. There are questions and answers in yolon's duet songs, which extend from daily life and nature to common knowledge about the universe. The improvisation of yolon's songs is very strong. When folk artists sang yolon's songs, they also used improvisation.

Yolongge carries the oral art, cultural tradition and ethnic memory of the Kirgiz people in the Pamirs, and is a precious folk literature heritage.
