Pingli County of Shaanxi Province is located at the intersection of Shaanxi, Hubei and Chongqing provinces. Pingli Xianzi opera, also known as Xianzi tune. In 1819, Li Jingmo and Li zengmo, two folk "lianhualuo" artists, first sang with autocratic Xianhu accompaniment on the basis of the original "lianhualuo" shadow play. They changed "lianhualuo" into "xiaoyaziban huazi beating Festival". Each aria was integrated with local folk song tunes and labor chants, and ended as "Shouqiang", so it was called "xianziqiang". This form of performance takes Pingli County as the center and is popular in neighboring Zhenping, Xunyang, Baihe, Hanbin, Langao, Zhuxi, Zhushan, Fangxian of Hubei Province and Wuxi, Wushan of Chongqing. The tone of Xianzi opera is based on Pingli local voice. The music belongs to banqiang style. The folk rap features in the singing music. At the end of each section of the singing, there must be "ditiao ganbai" and "Shouqiang Haozi". In the musical instruments, Xianhu accompaniment and xiaoyazi flower beating are the unique characteristics of Xianzi opera, which are different from other operas.

Pingli Xianzi opera is a unique opera after more than 190 years of tempering. It originated from the folk, close to the aspirations of the common people, reflects the regional historical and cultural information in different periods, and reflects the social and cultural development and the spiritual and cultural life of the people.
