Applicant: Chun'an County, Zhejiang Province
Chun'an triangle opera is a kind of local opera formed by the combination of Tea Picking Opera and Folk Dance Bamboo Horse troupe. Because there were only three characters in the early stage, namely Xiaosheng, Xiaodan and clown, it was also called "three legged drama" and named Muju in 1951. It is mainly popular in Chunan, Kaihua, Changshan and other places in the west of Zhejiang Province. There are performances in Tunxi, Shexian and Wuyuan of Anhui Province, especially in Chunan County of Zhejiang Province. Chun'an triangle opera was formed in the late Qing Dynasty. It was formed by the combination of Tea Picking Opera introduced from Jiangxi and Anhui and the local popular folk song and dance "Zhuma class". During the period of the Republic of China, the number of "bamboo horse troupes of triangle opera" was nearly 100. The current professional group, Chun'an Muju troupe, was founded in 1951.
The singing of Chun'an triangle opera can be divided into Huguang tune, Sanjiao tune and Zadiao, with more than 100 traditional tunes. The singing style is mainly plate singing, and it absorbs the singing tunes of Wu Opera and other major operas. Traditional triangle opera is accompanied by percussion instruments such as gongs and drums, with "long-range" and "short-range" gongs and drums as interludes and gateways. Later, it is gradually accompanied by huqin, dizi, Sanxian and other instruments. The performance of Chun'an triangle opera uses Chun'an dialect, singing and dancing in the form of performance. The performance style is simple and lively, with strong local flavor, which is deeply loved by the local people. Most of the contents of Chun'an triangle dramas reflect the daily life in rural areas. The traditional dramas include Nanshan planting wheat, herding cattle, watching lanterns and mending back girdle.
At present, the audience of Chun'an triangle opera is losing, the market is shrinking, and it is on the verge of losing.
