Introduction to Huanglong Opera
Applicant: Nong'an County, Jilin Province
Huanglong opera is a unique local opera in Northeast China, which is popular in Nong'an County of Jilin Province and its surrounding areas. It is based on the music of "local shadow play" (commonly known as local shadow play by local folk artists) and the folk drama evolved from "local shadow play" (commonly known as "singing toys" or "banjieying" or "Di tiaoying"), fully absorbing and learning from local shaman music and dance, folk rap, oral literature, folk ditty and other artistic means, forming an independent drama. The prototype of Huanglong opera appeared at the end of the 19th century. Because Nongan was called "Huanglong mansion" in Liao and Jin Dynasties, it was officially named "Huanglong opera" in 1959.
Huanglong opera was born in the depth of the northern ethnic culture of fishing, hunting and nomadic. It shows the vigorous and simple ethnic characteristics of Mabei nationality. It has an extremely important reference value in the study of folk history, social fashion history and northern cultural history.
