Haicheng trumpet opera is widely spread in Anshan, Haicheng, Yingkou, Dashiqiao, Liaoyang and surrounding areas of Liaoning Province. It was first formed in Niuzhuang area in the west of Haicheng, and its main musical instrument suona is also commonly known as "trumpet", so it is called "Haicheng trumpet opera".

At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, Haicheng trumpet opera began to take shape. In the years of Tongzhi and Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, with the popularity of Haicheng stilt Yangko, trumpet opera entered the stilt meeting from the ground Yangko, and skillfully integrated stilt Gong and handkerchief Gong into the performance, forming a performance form of stilt opera.
