There are many creation myths in Shaoyuan and its surrounding areas. These myths are rich in content, including more than 60 stories about Pangu's creation of heaven and earth, Nuwa's creation of man by kneading earth, Nuwa's refining of stone to mend the sky, Xuanyuan's sacrifice to heaven and Chiyou, Fuxi's performance of eight trigrams, Shennong's taste of herbs and sowing of grains, Zhuanxu and Gonggong, Dayu's water control, etc High academic research value.

Most of Shaoyuan's myths and legends are about God or half man and half god. In Shaoyuan Town, there are not only folk legends, but also a large number of pictographs and prototypes corresponding to fairy tales. The stories of Nuwa, Xuanyuan offering sacrifices to heaven, Chiyou, Shennong tasting herbs and other legends can be found in Qifeng, Xiushui and ancient place names. The mysterious connection between supernatural landscapes and ancient myths, especially the cultural relics and sites discovered in recent years, has made Shaoyuan the focus of many creationists.

Nowadays, although the main contents of Shaoyuan myth group have been sorted out into volumes, there are still many problems to carry forward its cultural connotation, especially the lack of successors for the living inheritance of this myth group, which is in urgent need of protection.
