Introduction to Yuediao
Applicant: Dengzhou City, Henan Province
Dengzhou Yuediao, also known as "Nanyang Dayue Diao", is the representative of western Henan Yuediao. During the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, it was popular in Nanyang counties and other areas as "rural opera".
Dengzhou Yuediao is mainly folk and oral Formal Opera, with nine tunes and eighteen tunes, decorated with coloratura, sonorous and bright. The main accompaniment instrument is elephant trunk four strings. Its expressive force is rich, unique style, good at expressing anger, grief and indignation, has distinct personality characteristics, known as "bitter Yue Diao". There are 369 traditional operas in Dengzhou Yuediao, and more than 50 representative operas, such as dabaoguo, sankudian and Changbanpo. In the traditional repertoire, the black and red face, four beams and four columns as the core, the Sheng Dan Jing Mo Chou line of business, constitute a unique personality.
At present, the number of Yuediao performing groups in Dengzhou has shrunk, the audience has dropped sharply, the performance market is in recession, and some traditional plays, performance skills, singing and music are on the verge of being lost, which urgently needs to be protected.
