Nanhui new town

Nanhui new town is located in the south of Pudong New Area, reaching the Yangtze River in the East, Hangzhou Bay in the south, Fengxian District, Nicheng town and Shuyuan town in the west, and Dazhi River in the north. It is about 75 km from the center of Shanghai, 32 km from Yangshan deep water port in the South and 25 km from Pudong International Airport in the north. In 2017, the permanent population of Nanhui new town was 72991, with an administrative area of 152 square kilometers.

In April 2012, the original Lingang New Town was renamed Nanhui new town. The organizational system of Shengang street and Luchaogang town was abolished. Some administrative divisions of Laogang town were adjusted and Nanhui new town was established. The newly established town has jurisdiction over three communities: Shengang community, Luchaogang community and Lingang comprehensive community. By the end of 2017, it has jurisdiction over 13 neighborhood committees, 2 Preparatory groups of residents committees and 1 administrative village.

On August 6, 2019, the State Council issued the overall plan for the new port area of China (Shanghai) pilot Free Trade Zone, and Nanhui new town was included in the 119.5 square kilometer pilot area.

In July 2020, it won the honorary title of national health Township from 2017 to 2019.

Overview of new town

Nanhui new town (Nanhui new town) is located at the intersection of the Yangtze River Estuary and Hangzhou Bay. The urban planning area is about 70 square kilometers, of which the coverage rate of water system and garden is as high as 60%.

Historical evolution

Nanhui became a land around the Tang Dynasty. According to the old book of the Tang Dynasty, the land was formed by "the Yangtze River, supported by the tide, turned south and crossed with the Qiantang River here" after it went out to sea. It was called "Nanhui mouth" because it curved into the sea and shaped like a mouth. It was once called "Haiqu" and "Nansha". According to the protection list of place names in Shanghai municipal districts, Nanhui belongs to the "first protection level". According to the regulations of the protection list, the place names still in use shall not be revoked or renamed at will, and the place names belonging to the first protection level shall be especially protected.

In mid November 2012, with the approval of Shanghai Municipal People's government, Shanghai Municipal People's government's reply on Approving the adjustment of some administrative divisions in Pudong New Area (Hufu [2012] No. 89), the organizational system of Shengang street and Luchaogang town was cancelled, some administrative divisions of Laogang town were adjusted, and Nanhui new town was established. Design planning

Nanhui new town is planned and designed by German GMP company. On the calm surface of the lake, a drop of dew falls and ripples together. Three circular rivers around Dishui Lake are named Chunlian River, xialian River and Qiulian River from inside to outside. The two islands in Dishui Lake are named South Island and North Island.

Nanhui new town (town) is located in the southeast of Pudong, with humid and windy climate. 30% of the planning area is reclaimed after the new town planning. Economic overview
