Hudong Xincun Street

Hudong Xincun street is a street under the jurisdiction of Pudong New Area, Shanghai, China. The jurisdiction area is bounded by Zhangyang North Road (formerly known as Puxing Road) in the East and Puxing street; Jinqiao Road in the South and Jinyang street; Huangpu River in the West and Puxi across the river; Donggou port in the north and Gaoxing town. It covers an area of 5.51 square kilometers and has a population of 112031 (2010). The office is located at 247 Lancheng road. Hudong new village was the second new village of workers formed in the last century in 50s, following the Cao Yang new village. It gradually developed into a mixed community with 5.51 square kilometers, 67 thousand and 600 registered residence population (11 thousand and 400 floating population), 33 residential areas and a large number of state-owned large and medium-sized enterprises.

In May 2020, it won the honorary title of "civilized community of Shanghai in 2018-2019".

Historical evolution

In 1960, Yangjing street in Pudong county was divided into jianhudong street in Yangpu District. In 1984, the area south of donggougang, north of dichaibang, east of Shangchuan road and Haiphong new village in Chuansha county were included. Xiepu road street was built in 1987, which got its name from Xiepu road. In 1993, it was transferred to Pudong New Area. It is located in the north of Pudong New Area, with Donggou port in the north and Rongcheng road in the west, across Lujiazui financial and Trade Development Zone and Jinqiao Export Processing Zone, Pudong Avenue, Jinqiao Road and dichaibang in the south, and Huangpu River in the north. In 1997, it covers an area of 6.2 square kilometers and has a population of 65000. It has jurisdiction over 30 neighborhood committees. In December 1996 and March 1998, Pudong district was adjusted twice, and its jurisdiction was moved eastward and renamed Hudong Xincun street. In 2006, Liubu No.1 neighborhood committee and boxing road No.2 neighborhood committee were abolished to establish Liubo neighborhood committee; Lancheng Road neighborhood committee and boxing road No.3 neighborhood committee were abolished to establish Bolan neighborhood committee; Wulian road No.2 neighborhood committee was merged into zhujiamen neighborhood committee. Hudong new village street is a typical industrial residential area in Shanghai. Industrial enterprises are mainly distributed in the west along the river and the south. Residential areas are mainly distributed in the middle, North and southeast of the area. The old Hudong new village is the second worker's new village in Shanghai built in the 1950s after Caoyang new village. There are Pudong Avenue, Puxing Road, Jinqiao Road, Wulian Road, Laiyang Road, boxing Road, Lijin Road, Lancheng Road, Changdao road and other main roads.
