Qingyun town is located in the south of Qingyun station of Shanghai Hangzhou railway. The people's government is located in Qingyun natural Town, named after Qingyun bridge (also known as Qingshan bridge).

At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, Qingyun, Luzhong and Huaguang were established as three townships. In 1956, they were jointly established as Qingyun township. In 1958, it was incorporated into Xieqiao commune. In 1961, it was designated as Qingyun commune. In January 1984, it was rebuilt as Qingyun Township, and in November 1985, it was removed from the township to build a town. Qingyun town is one of the top ten rural economic towns in Jiaxing City. On September 27, 2001, zhezhenghan No. 203 approved the adjustment of administrative divisions in Haining City, abolished the organizational system of Qingyun Town, and merged with Xieqiao town. Xieqiao town governs 24 villages and 5 residences, and is temporarily located at No. 8 Guangming Street (the original site of Qingyun town)
